Position Pay Range:

This range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to geographical location and experience.

$101,005.00-$161,608.00

We are looking for a talented Senior Scrum Master to revitalize and energize our Agile practices, creating high-performing teams. The Senior Scrum Master will assess team maturity and introduce the right systems at the right time, empowering teams to perform at their best. Position Details:

The Senior Scrum Master has the primary responsibility for enabling highly collaborative teams that organize around delivering products to support critical business solutions. They act in a servant leadership role for an Agile team(s) focused on facilitating Agile ceremonies and coaching team members. They are responsible for the identification, escalation, and removal of Team and Enterprise impediments and for establishing and maintaining team workflow. The Senior Scrum Master will also be responsible to track, measure and report team progress based on best practices. Metrics must be a focal point, facilitating the heartbeat of the team to understand their health. The Scrum Master will determine and implement the ideal Agile practice(s) for a specific team by pulling from metrics and their breadth of Agile techniques including Scrum, Kanban, Lean, XP, and SAFe. As Scrum Master, they are pivotal to creating a culture of change and accountability and are responsible to guide the consistent application of Lean practices throughout the FSM Engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate expertise of Lean/Agile practices at the team, program, and portfolio levels to provide well-rounded guidance for all levels within the FSM organization.
  • Guide and coach the teams on Scrum and Agile practices consistent with team standards and helping them achieve their commitments and objectives day to day, sprint-to-sprint.
  • Own coaching team(s) to improve overall health, exemplified through thoughtful planning, high productivity, and sprint success.
  • Anticipate challenges, identify risks, and recommend mitigations.
  • Facilitate and organize Scrum ceremonies - help the team focus on goals and self-organize to achieve objectives and commitments.
  • Establish and continually evaluate regular and appropriate team metrics that drive new insights, experiments, and ultimately stronger teams with high quality and velocity. Lead continuous improvement efforts with teams using insights from metrics and retrospectives.
  • Work with product owners and others to ensure they are well engaged with the team, providing the support needed for teams to be successful.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years professional experience with Scrum & Kanban Teams in the software development environment.
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with leading organizational change.
  • Experience with Agile and Lean principles to continuously evaluate team workflows and make improvement recommendations.
  • Experience working and communicating successfully with a team in an online collaboration platform, partnering with a geo-dispersed agile team
  • Experience working in larger scale Agile environments and leveraging SAFe. Working knowledge in more than one Lean/Agile framework such as Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban, Extreme Programming, Feature-Driven Development and Lean.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies/processes, design, implementation, and documentation.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and experience with Stakeholder management
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and experience of Agile roles, artifacts, and ceremonies.
  • Demonstrates expert knowledge and experience using metrics to improve team performance.
  • Highly developed analytical problem-solving skills in choosing effective solutions to aid the team in removing impediments
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical individuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAFe Practitioner certification from the Scaled Agile Academy, Certified Scrum Master or Agile certification is a plus
  • Clear understanding and emphasis on customer-centered usability and design
  • Actively engaged in the Agile community to grow, connect, and be inspired by others external to FSM, and to bring learnings and education internal to FSM.
