The ideal candidate for the Senior State Account Analyst (Business Analyst) position must have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to document and assist with the implementation of complex business rules.

A Senior State Account Analyst is a subject matter expert responsible for the successful implementation of state business solutions and conversions. This role involves providing technical guidance, leading large-scale projects, and ensuring excellent customer service. The ideal candidate possesses advanced technical knowledge, strong problem-solving abilities, and a customer-focused mindset.

NIPR is based in Kansas City, Missouri. This is a full-time position which will allow a person to work remotely within the United States or hybrid in NIPR's physical office space in Kansas City, MO.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and executing complex state implementations and conversions
  • Providing technical expertise and support to state customers and internal teams
  • Mentoring and developing less experienced staff
  • Gathering, analyzing, and documenting system requirements
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet customer expectations.

Implementation Management
  • Acts as the main project lead with state regulators, vendors and various NIPR and NAIC/SBS business areas during implementation of NIPR products and services.
  • Works collaboratively in all aspects of testing, including pre/post go-live checklists to ensure productive implementation.
  • Coordinates with the State Relationship Account Manager; State Account Analysts, Manager, State Implementations; and product teams to ensure that new software and business functions are properly deployed.
  • Ensures state regulators fully understand NIPR's products and services and works with Business Analyst team to document all necessary requirements.
  • Works with the Manager, State Implementations and Product Management team to develop and communicate timelines for state implementations based on NIPR resource availability.
  • Maintains detailed written records of implementations for peer review and training purposes.
  • Facilitates state follow up review meetings after implementation.
  • Communicates effectively and timely to the State Implementations Manager and states on pertinent information pertaining to product implementation, task lists, and timelines.

Minimum education and/or experience required:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; and three to five years related experience, preferably in insurance or insurance regulation; and/or training or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Preferred education and experience:
  • Business Analysis certification
  • Knowledge of state insurance regulations or experience working in insurance, or a government regulated industry.

Skills and abilities:
  • Outstanding professional communication via email, phone, and in person.
  • Works collaboratively with our teams to service state customers wholistically.
  • Excellent follow-through, preparation, and organizational skills ensuring both external customers and internal teams are provided with up-to-date information.
  • Ability to lead meetings via video conferencing.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, complex state insurance regulations and understand how these rules impact our customers and NIPR.
  • Must be highly motivated, results oriented, creative and possess strong business standards and integrity.
  • Familiarity with data analytics, data analytic tools (Salesforce, AHA and other programs) preferred.
  • Extensive analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Sound business decision-making skills with the ability to understand the "big picture" is essential.
  • Familiar with or ability to learn Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, Salesforce, JIRA, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time for state visits and conferences as needed to meet customers' needs.

Compensation:

Starting at $82,810 up to $110,000. To be commensurate with experience and education
