In support of our shift to a cloud-first strategy, we are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (Cloud Engineer) to partner with our data science and software engineering teams to deliver market leading, enterprise-class products and services. As a Site Reliability Engineer (Cloud Engineer), you will embed with our software engineering teams and work collaboratively with infrastructure to bring operational excellence to those teams. You will be responsible for monitoring/alerting/observability, performance, reliability, security, continuity, and resiliency. You will also be instrumental in partnering with our platform teams on deployment pipelines and provisioning of new services and platforms. You will be crucial in accelerating speed to market and innovation, while also ensuring that we are adhering to security and compliance principles, are cost-effective, and are building rock-solid, highly available systems.

Our main priority continues to be the health and safety of our employees. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this position will be remote until further notice. We will continue monitoring the circumstances and when we feel comfortable, this position will return to the office in Eden Prairie, MN where you will have an opportunity to collaborate face-to-face with a talented and diverse group of peers.

Responsibilities:

  • Support application/system migration from on-premise to Azure
  • Partner with platform and engineering teams on deployment pipelines (building, configuring, troubleshooting), and provisioning/scaling of new infrastructure and platforms
  • Identify monitoring/alerting/observability needs and influence team culture to bring this rigor into the daily development cycle
  • Implement application performance monitoring
  • Act as team subject matter expert in areas of event correlation, log mining, and dependency mapping
  • Respond to operational issues and engage additional teams as necessary
  • Participate in cross-training, architectural design, capacity planning, and recommendations for future state
  • Partner with community on best-practices, patterns, and practices for leveraging different technologies and ensure adoption within teams - including mentoring
  • Assist with engineering efforts to reduce occurrence of failures and ensure graceful degradation of services and timely recovery
  • Represent teams in post-mortem activities and follow-through on action items

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of enterprise application development experience and/or experience maintaining, supporting, and deploying to production systems
  • 2+ years of experience working in Kubernetes and/or public cloud ecosystem (Azure preferred)
  • Proficiency with CI/CD concepts and tools
  • Proficiency using metrics to measure and monitor application and infrastructure performance and experience using APM/monitoring tools (ex. AppDynamics, Splunk, SCOM, etc.)
  • Proficiency with containerization and container orchestration
  • Experience with data management/movement and data platforms (ex. PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Kafka)
  • Experience with automated testing (functionality, performance, volume)
  • Familiar with basic security principles (certificates, identity management, authorization, etc.)
  • Bachelor's degree or minimum of 4 years of equivalent work experience and high school diploma/GED
