This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. Relocation may be provided."

The Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) ensures applications meet GM IT standards for functional, system, quality, security, performance and architecture requirements. Ability to drive advanced levels of test planning, execution and quality reporting of software quality using test automation and Lean DevOps methodologies.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Hands-on coding experience with Java, C# or other object-oriented programming languages
  • Work towards improving test automation frameworks and maintain scalable data sets for testing
  • Evaluate current test procedures/process and drive optimization
  • Utilize monitoring and reporting tools like AzDO and drive optimzation
  • Develop and contribute to long term technical solutions and strategies of the QA organization
  • Identify quality weaknesses, suggest solutions and drive/initiate change
  • Build and cultivate relationships with development and business facing teams
  • Expertise in testing across various languages and architectures
  • Interact and collaborate with many teams cross-functionally
  • Support the delivery of code and features in the shortest period of time without sacrificing quality
  • Mentor and develop technical talent from new college hires to senior QA engineers

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science or relative experience
  • 3+ years of experience as development or test lead
  • Working knowledge of test methodologies and process implementation experience
  • Experience with driving a test automation strategy
  • Advanced experience of test automation development, CI/CD tools, practices and methodologies
  • Innovative and strategic thinker with initiative to take action and create positive change
  • Must demonstrate exceptional communication and leadership skills
