The Sourcing Specialist 2 - Commodity Management for Engineered Systems is responsible for defined work or projects with moderate complexity. In this role, you will follow an individual work plan, resolve issues escalated to the commodity, meet short and long-term objectives and manage the relationship with your assigned suppliers.
Essential Responsibilities
In addition, you will:
Understand strategies for assigned commodities and proactively drive initiatives to meet Sourcing objectives
Identify and qualify new suppliers
Assess supplier capabilities and make recommendations on supplier acceptability
Implement sourcing standards including process & execution, synergies for cost out
Drive productivity opportunities with supply base to deliver cost out goals
Analyze & assess deflation opportunities in assigned suppliers/commodities
Ensure balanced performance management and execution for suppliers, across Quality /Delivery/Cost/Cash
Drive effective recovery plans and create payment tracking and invoice analysis
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 3 years of experience in Sourcing).
Ability to travel up to 30% of time
Desired Characteristics
Prior experience in similar commodity/product
Six Sigma / Lean / PMP certification
Understanding of 'should-cost' for relevant products.
Experience in functions related to sourcing activities (planning, fulfilment, logistics, etc.)
Ability to build trust-based relationships with suppliers & extended team
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong spoken and written communication & presentation skills
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to negotiate pricing, complex contracts & terms
