Our Client is seeking a SQL Server DBA for a Remote opportunity.

Role Description

  • Manage SQL Server databases
  • Configure and maintain database servers and processes
  • Monitor system's health and performance utilizing ticketing system to ensure issues are addressed in timely manner.
  • Ensure high levels of performance, availability, sustainability, and security
  • Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time
  • Provide suggestions for solutions
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
  • Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
  • Provide support for critical production systems
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
  • On rotation 24/7 primary dba support every 6-7 week.
  • Administration of Microsoft SQL Server on-prem Always On Clusters
  • Maintain and update the cluster to support day-to-day operations in the enterprise
  • Perform minor and major upgrades, support monthly OS patches
  • Vulnerability management and remediation.
  • Support project teams in trouble shooting job issues and deployment where needed.
  • Activities include DB backups and restores.
  • Research performance issues, configuring the cluster with Microsoft best practices, optimizing specifications and parameters to fine-tune and proactively avoid performance issues.
Skills & Requirements
  • 8+ years SQL
  • experience implementing security and TLS/SSL
  • Administration of Microsoft SQL Server on-prem Always On Clusters
  • Need to have 8+ years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server,
  • Hands-on experience on Microsoft SQL Server installation, configuration, debugging, tuning and administration
  • Hands on experience on Always On setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong hands-on experience in implementation of Security and TLS/SSL implementation etc.
  • Understanding of vulnerabilities and remediations
  • Experience with SQL scripting or other automation
  • Experience with Performance monitoring and tuning
  • Working knowledge of Networks, Windows OS.
  • Experience with SQL Server version upgrades and patching
  • Demonstrate ability to find the root cause of a problem in Data engine, SSRS, SSAS, optimize inefficient execution, and resolve resource contention scenarios
