It is an exciting time to be a part of the growing Data and Analytics Enablement Team at Moderna. We are driving a well-supported cloud-first strategy to enable lots of data-hungry people across the company to discover value and act on insights from data that improve the health and well-being of millions of lives across the globe. With our strong and cutting-edge data pipeline, this position will play a key role partnering with our Research stakeholders and scientists to enable operational analytics for long term success that directly drive innovations in our medicines and product pipeline.

This role will be responsible for working with him/her to deliver analytical solutions to support Moderna's Research organization and Computational Science. As a Moderna analytics engineer, you will work directly with end users to understand requirements and then work with your team to design, develop, and deploy custom solutions.

Here's What You'll Do

  • Partner with business stakeholders in the Research and Computational Science to gather and understand requirements for digital analytics solutions
  • Build cross-platform data strategy to aggregate multiple sources including experiments, pre formulation equipment, material, laboratory testing and process development datasets
  • Map and maintain data flows to support the development of complex system integrations
  • Create and maintain data models in Redshift that accurately depict the drug development process and contextualize the data generated for analytics. Link these to analytical solutions or enable them for self-service consumption.
  • Partner to collect and develop use cases for real-time operational reporting, statistical analysis, design of experiment and application of machine learning to empower research data scientist with analytics and clean data set
  • Perform data quality and regression testing
  • Deliver solutions to users in an extremely rapid, agile cycle
  • Contribute to many different projects in a dynamic, fast-moving environment
  • Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time

Here's What You'll Need (Minimum Qualifications)
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics with a minimum of 6 years of experience or master's in computer science or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Experience working in Life Sciences, pharma/biotech, research, or related field
  • 4+ years of experience with writing complex SQL and working with data warehouses
  • 4 years of experience implementing and maintaining technology to support process analytics
  • Experience implementing and supporting analytics using Spotfire, ChemDraw, Tableau, Dataiku or similar platforms
  • Experience working with lab instrumentation and IoT data streaming and integration platforms

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Understanding of industry technology trends in process analytics, database technologies, machine learning, data integrity and statistical analysis
  • Experience with TetraScience/Scitara preferred
  • Effective communicator with comfort working directly with users to understand requirements
  • A strong background in analytics, statistics, and machine learning is strongly desired
  • Knowledge of Oncology, Rare Disease or Infectious Disease is preferrable
  • Experience with designing data models and best practices for data warehouse
  • Extensive experience with building dashboards to support business needs
