Primary Function of Position:

Sr. Director of Program Management for Global Business Services (GBS) will oversee a team of project / program mangers tasked with leading large scale, highly impactful, cross functional business programs. This high-level leader will be expected to closely collaborate with other company PMOs in product development, HR, Services, and IT to help develop portfolio level, multi-year views for the executive team. This leader will help project teams achieve objectives, coordinate collaborations with partners/evaluators, facilitate communications, and develop, drive and maintain schedules for project deliverables.

The Sr Director Program Management  GBS will work with project leaders to plan and execute project activities and identify resources and responsibilities to ensure timely progress on project milestones and provide visibility across all projects.


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Key Duties:
    • Manages a team of project & program managers to support the Global Business Services business goals
    • Directs cross-functional teams in context of high priority business projects.
    • Identifies potential bottlenecks or delays in the programs and drives efforts to ensure projects stay on schedule.
    • Directly manages key projects and coordinates resources with appropriate inter-departmental and support staff personnel.
    • Regularly prepares proposals and presents updates and analysis in formal meetings.
    • Develop and communicate periodic reports to communicate status on milestones.
    • Identify mitigation actions to address project risks and identify actions to expedite project schedule if necessary.
    • Develop, track, and report project cost and spending on periodic basis.
    • Develop and integrate company-wide project plan to summarize and identify peaks for resource leveling and distribution of activities.
  • Responsibilities:
    • Manage departmental and enterprise-wide projects from beginning to end
    • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management and stakeholders
    • Estimate and identify the resources needed to achieve project goals through established resource capacity planning
    • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate resources and track tasks
    • Oversee development of project documentation including project charters, project plans, RFP’s, process maps, and business requirements
    • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
    • Manage third party vendors for project resources as needed
    • Negotiate and obtain project statements of work, quotes, and contracts


Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:


  • Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
    • Minimum Bachelor's degree with 15+ years or more years of industry experience, and significant cross-functional project management experience (prefer work in highly regulated industry)
    • Minimum 7+ years managing a team and cross-functional influence.
    • Experience with mergers and acquisitions highly desired.
    • Experience with project management and portfolio level tools such as smartsheet and Anaplan desired
    • Strong negotiation, facilitation and diplomacy skills to coalesce conflicting view.
    • Ability to develop and support attitude of teamwork across all departments.
    • Experience managing partnerships with outside vendors is a plus.
    • Skills to participate in strategy process relative to portfolio management.
    • Cross functional leadership skills to effectively organize teams to produce portfolio deliverables.
    • Formal project management training is required, PMP certification considered a plus.
