Function of the Position:

The Senior/Principal Manager is tasked with managing the Market Intelligence team within DAI's USG business unit. As part of the USG Business Transformation department, the Market Intelligence team works closely with leadership within the USG business unit to inform strategic decision-making by providing insights into the market, customers, and competitors. The team is responsible for strategic data and information, trend and scenario analysis, and other business analytics in support of strategic planning and execution for the USG business segment and at the corporate level. The Senior/Principal Manager works with senior management to support and/or lead implementation of strategic planning activities by providing actionable recommendations based on assessments of markets and competitors, both existing and potential and managing task forces to support implementation of strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Market Research

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility, and leverages them across the company where appropriate.
  • Identify and collect appropriate customer, competitor, market, economic, financial and/or operational data.
  • Profile the overall market and competitive environment, providing insights and recommendations that support strategic decision-making and for use in internal and external presentations by senior leadership.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of designated markets and trends through reading reports, market research, data manipulation and financial modeling and analysis.
Market Analysis
  • Creates and updates comprehensive industry, competitor and customer models including, but not limited to, market share, growth projections and trends, and market forces.
  • Perform financial, statistical, and qualitative data analysis of markets and competitors.
  • Performs thorough, systematic analysis of key industry trends; the general social economic and political environment; legal and regulatory issues; customers; current and potential competitors.
  • Provides market and competitive insights through presentations and reports to the USG Senior Leadership Team and various internal management teams to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation.
  • Translate data into executable and effective market and intelligence reports.
  • Supplies the market and competitive intelligence component of strategic planning, and proactively makes recommendations to management concerning key intelligence items that require further consideration.
Strategy Implementation Support
  • Lead relevant initiatives, and/or task forces related to implementation of DAI strategy as delegated by the VP, Business Transformation.
  • Provide necessary supporting data and make recommendations to senior management on business development and market expansion strategies.
  • Works with internal business customers to enhance their use of strategic analysis and market and competitor intelligence-in particular through use of DAI Connect and other corporate-wide tools-to ensure that appropriate communication channels are maintained. Collaborates internally to ensure intelligence is shared with appropriate groups and individuals.
Networking
  • Build and maintain relationships with USAID/Washington staff by representing DAI externally through ongoing person-to-person engagement to develop better understanding of macro-level client priorities and trends.
  • As needed, represents, and participates in industry events on behalf of DAI and builds relationships with USAID/Washington staff, including the Council for International Development Companies (CIDC).
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key internal customers to identify emerging needs and business challenges.
Staff Management & Training
  • Supervises, mentors and trains Market Intelligence Associates/Specialists to ensure they are able to meet established goals and objectives.
  • Ensures Market Intelligence team has the required training, skills, and support to successfully carry out their responsibilities.
  • In collaboration with the Director, USG Partnerships ensures Market Intelligence team members have access to professional development opportunities.
  • Builds capacity of embedded business development teams to collect and analyze client and geographic market information to support decision making.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • P6 : Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in international development or business administration and a college degree. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • P7: Minimum of 7 years relevant experience in international development or business administration and a college degree. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of USAID thematic and functional policies and regulations.
  • Strong customer focus and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under deadline constraints.
  • Ability to network effectively at all levels and influence without direct management oversight.
  • Demonstrated strength in problem solving and analytics and capable of driving insight to action.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to tailor communication style to effectively contribute to executive-level discourse, and communicate complex or technical information with diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated public speaking and/or presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • High level of competence with Microsoft Office suite (in particular, advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills) is essential.
  • Able to build and maintain strong working relationships with staff at all levels of the organization from diverse backgrounds.
  • Able and willing to travel to any country where DAI operates, barring times with DAI Global Security has deemed travel unsafe.
  • Able and willing to adjust work schedule, if needed, to support teams located in different time zones/countries.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in international development, business administration, or finance.

Compensation & Benefits:

For P6: For employees working the United States, the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $ 92,921 to $ 109,319 .

For P 7 : For employees working the United States, the full-time equivalent annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $ 106,860 to $ 125,717 .

Salary for part-time employees will be prorated based on actual hours worked. Actual offers will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant education, experience, skills, seniority, performance, and business or organizational needs.

Eligible U.S. based employees will be able to enroll in medical, dental and vision insurance, plus a 401(k)-retirement plan with a company match. Additionally, employees will be eligible for company-paid annual leave (vacation & holidays), sick leave, and parental leave , as well as short- and long-term disability coverage. Detailed information will be provided at the time a formal offer is extended.

For employees working outside of the United States, compensation and benefits will vary based on location.
