We are looking for a Sr. Manager of Software Engineering who will be leading the development of software applications for our next-generation molecular diagnostics systems. This person will be a key leader in the software engineering team that leads development efforts for software for commercial products as well as in-house research.

This position is part of the Biochip R&D Team and will be located in Sunnyvale. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Take ownership and drive teams to deliver quality products on time following Agile lean software development process, while successfully adopting change and handling conflict / ambiguity. Ownership includes requirements analysis, project planning and providing time/cost estimates for projects.
  • Excellent collaboration skills - able to navigate complex matrix organization and proactively seek partnerships and collaborate with multi-functional product development teams and across Business Units to define software strategy, product roadmap and technology roadmap.
  • Build and nurture a culture of quality, ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and data driven decision making.
  • Exceptional project/time management skills, with proven ability to clearly define objectives and priorities, establish milestones, anticipate and mitigate risks, lead cross-functional teams to meet and exceed goals in a dynamic environment, while maintaining strong attention to detail and quick recall.

The essential requirements of the job include:

  • BS or MS in Engineering with a specialization in Computer Science or related field with a Minimum 8+ years with BS, or 6+ years with MS. Of which 3 to 5 years of managerial experience in leading high performing software teams.
  • Hands on experience in Enterprise Application design, UI design and development using java frameworks like angular/react, debug, and testing in a PC environment.
  • An approachable and credible communication style, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills; to keep all levels of the organization informed, engaged, and motivated.
  • Intellectual honesty and agility - able to pivot based on shifting priorities and balance multiple projects seamlessly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

  • Medical device or regulated industry experience
  • Experience working with web, cloud, and/or mobile application
