Position Summary

Dexcom's R&D Data Platform Team is currently seeking a Sr Systems Administrator for our Atlassian software suite consistent of Confluence, Jira, and Status Page.

The Dexcom Data Platform receives uploads from many different applications, hosts processes that generate near real-time alert responses and distributes data for internal and external purposes, providing these services to millions of users worldwide. The successful candidate will work with the Software R&D Organization to define and establish Jira workflows to support the release of new features and enhancements to products and for Dexcom's world-class continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology in mobile and browser applications.

In this role, the successful candidate will partner with a cross-functional team to deliver new Jira workflows, configure 3rd party plugins, and integrations with other 3rd party tools. Stakeholders include Business Relationship Managers, Product Managers, Account Managers, Business Development Managers, Program Managers, other Platform Product Owners, Application Teams, Business Intelligence, Commercial, Marketing, User Experience (UX), Technical Support, Regulatory Authority, and Quality Assurance teams as well as external teams including Dexcom partners and vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with stakeholders to design Jira workflows and Schemes (Permission/Notification/Screen) to support our SDLC and regulatory processes
• Work with stake holders to administer and configure Status Page and Localization App
• Design and Support Jira reporting using plugins/3rd party tools/API's
• Perform regular script automation to support custom Jira workflow requests
• Integrate Jira projects with 3rd-party commercial tools
• Plugin support including Script Runner Plugin and EZBi
• Perform administration of Atlassian Access SSO
• Follow and support internal procedures that comply with medical regulations related to computer systems and computer system validation.
• Be on-rotation call 24/7, supporting ongoing need to identify and escalates technical or operational risks to infrastructure.
• Creates, updates, and executes business application validation plans, test protocols, manual test scripts, and executes software tests.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in Atlassian administration, Jira workflows, reporting and analytics
• Hands on experience with Atlassian on-prem or Atlassian Cloud
• Integration experience with 3rd parties and scripting in groovy or Python
• Postgres SQL or any relational database experience
• Strong project, risk, schedule, communication, change, and deliverable management skills
• DevOps background and familiarity with tools such as GitHub, Bamboo, Jenkins, Artifactory, Jira
• Experience working with cross-functional teams with stakeholders - strong influential and partnering skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective listening skills and ability to communicate accurately and effectively one-on-one or in a group setting, as well as in written formats
• Teamwork skills with excellent interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work in an environment with multiple short-term deadlines, frequent interruptions and changing priorities
• Contribute high quality work to projects

Preferred Qualifications:

• Life science or medical device industry experience preferred
• Some understanding of data governance, cybersecurity, and various data privacy laws
• Prior experience building regulated software for the medical field
• Cloud based deployment and hosting of business applications a plus
• Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, Lean, SAFe, etc.)

Functional Description

Defines, designs and administers network systems used for data communications and recommends improvements necessary to ensure operation of the company's high traffic, business critical internet production environment. Responsible for making sure that the company network always works. Manages the load configuration of a central data communication processor and makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data networks. Proposes and implements network system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of the network system. Applies capacity planning to business recommendations. First point of contact for performance analysis, scalability and service architecture/database administration issues. May be asked to coordinate equipment orders including terminals and cable installation, as well as upgrading, monitoring, testing and servicing the database/systems. Approves action requests and specifies purchase requirement. Negotiates and places orders with common carriers.
