Strategic Planning & Execution Manager

Open to remote work from Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Utah

Primary Job Purpose

Lead the organization's Senior Leaders through the strategic planning process, operating as an extension of the leadership team. Partner with the organization's senior leadership team to drive all aspects of the creation, deployment and tracking of organizational short- and long-term strategic plans. Develop an infrastructure for tracking and reporting on the progress of key objectives and success measures, and ensure this information is communicated to all levels of the organization. Drive the alignment of strategies with key business partners and be responsible for managing necessary projects as needed.

General Functions and Outcomes

  • Provides strategic planning expertise and thought leadership to drive the development and deployment of organizational short- and long-term strategic plans.
  • Partner with Senior Leadership team to ensure business partner alignment, and facilitate prioritization, scope control, and resource allocation decisions necessary to support strategic plans.
  • Develop, execute, and ensure alignment on organizational strategic planning operating rhythm. Assesses on-going progress toward strategic goals and recommends revisions to the strategic plan based on evaluation of results.
  • Ensure organizational objectives and success measures are communicated to all levels of the organization. Ensures objectives remain consistent with the overall business strategy. Tracks objectives to ensure results are achieved on schedule, and according to defined scope.
  • Proactively identify critical risks and issues and drive issue resolution; escalating to Senior Leadership/stakeholders, using contingency planning and demonstrating appropriate risk management.
  • Manage the execution of necessary change management, continuous improvement, organizational design, communication and organizational transformation initiatives.
  • Establish effective lines of communication among cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Build relationships as needed.
  • Leverage strong knowledge of department strategies and initiatives to represent the senior leader and the Leadership Team in various forums.
  • Partners with team members to drive the department communication and change management strategy and related key messages for stakeholders across the organization.
  • Builds, develops and coaches virtual team to ensure a high performing team.

Minimum Requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in Strategy Development and Deployment methodologies and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated ability of successfully implementing key Strategy Deployment principles in an Information Technology organization.
  • Proficient in Continuous Improvement, Project Management & Change Management methodologies & frameworks.
  • Demonstrated strength in identifying and implementing solutions to complex business issues and opportunities, creating business strategies, and driving results with internal and/or external partners.
  • Strong influencing, communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to adapt styles to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization (including the ability visually represent complex thoughts and ideas in a simple, concise manner).
  • Proficient in the operational aspects of an Information Technology organization (software development lifecycles, technology platforms, infrastructure, budgeting/forecasting, culture, etc.).
  • Experienced people leader with proven people leadership skills (direct and indirect), and ability to mentor less senior team members.
  • A proven team player with the ability to partner, maintain and develop relationships.
  • Proven leadership experience managing and motivating others to thrive in an extremely fast-paced, and matrixed environment.
  • Proven leadership experience in effectively teaching, coaching and transferring knowledge to both leadership and line level employees.
  • Identify and build strategic collaborations with multiple stakeholders to direct mission-critical sales, marketing and provider partnership initiatives across the enterprise.
  • Achieve aggressive goals in a complex environment, thriving in the midst of rapid changes and shifting priorities.
  • Raise awareness about external insights from national accounts and providing counsel to senior management and direct cross-functional teams to influence change.

Normally to be proficient in the competencies listed above

The Strategic Planning and Execution Manager would have a Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field, 10+ years of experience working directly with senior management to identify, develop and execute strategic initiatives, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment

Work is primarily performed in an office environment

Travel may be required, either locally or out of state
