1 OPEN FOR --> 2nd/3rd Shift: Sybase + DB2 Administrator

2 OPEN FOR --> day shift in SLC, or MUST relo to SLC!!!

**ALL OPENINGS WILL HAVE WEEKEND WORK

**2nd and 3rd Shift: Will work either the 8:30pmEST shift or the 4:30amEST shift, and either Sunday-Thursday (Friday + Saturday off) or Tuesday-Saturday (Sunday + Monday off). **The schedule is done on a
monthly basis and we cannot guarantee that you will be on the same shift each month (although we will definitely try and accommodate if possible)**

Remote anywhere in US; plus if candidates located in Salt Lake City

Contract Length: December 2021 (longer if great performance and strong possibility of moving to day shift)

Must Have Requirements:

3-5 years of experience in a Database Administrator role focusing on Sybase and DB2 (for 3+ years)

Bachelor's degree

Good understanding on following platforms: Red Hat Enterprise Linux v3/4/5/6 and Sun Solaris 5.8/10

Good understanding on Database Platform: Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, Sybase Replication, UDB/DB2.

Familiarity with disk backup/tape backup audit controls.

Extensive exposure to Sybase ASE 15.x, ASE 12.x database administration under Linux platform.

Strong Knowledge in Performance Tuning for Databases.

Strong knowledge in Database Maintenance. VIII. Experience in Investment Banking sector is a Plus.

Good Interpersonal skills to interact with global Teams. X. Good experience with Incident management.

Automation skills utilizing scripting languages, including ksh or bash and either python or perl.

Knowledge in job scheduler - Autosys, cron jobs etc...

Strong team player, good communication and interpersonal skills

Day to Day: Qualified candidate will provide unified production management support for the database infrastructure of the firm, using cutting-edge systems and processes that form the core of our key business. They will also adopt various tools developed by Engineering team to automate failures using machine learning techniques, notify discrepancies in the health of production environment and help in the automation of health-restoration, with a continuous focus on risk and cost.

You will: • Perform Database Administration activities as part of the Firm's Technical Infrastructure team. • Troubleshoot disk backup and tape backup failures to determine root cause of failure • Provide production support for Sybase ASE, Sybase IQ, UDB DB2, Sybase Replication, UDB DB2 SQL Rep and Q Replication, Paraccel, Postgres, Hadoop, MSSQL, Mongo DB, Oracle database infrastructure globally. • Support the following hardware: Sun v240/440/4800/420r, Dell r610/710, HP 385/585/480 Blades • Continually evaluate the operations of the environment and assist in the optimization and delivery of server infrastructure • Schedule maintenance jobs using Autosys • Communicate and coordinate with application support and other IT support teams to provide timely responses for critical requests. • Involves in Business Continuity plan tests across all regions related to Database infrastructure.
