Position Overview

The Systems Engineer will manage and provide direct support for Carlisle IT systems / servers, including Azure, and virtual host administration (Nutanix, VMware, and EMC VNX). This position will perform application and server administration, to include troubleshooting, patch management and security updates, software installations, and system management for Windows Active Directory.

Key Functions and Responsibilities

Level I and up-

* Work closely with Network, Service Delivery, Security Operations, and Applications teams to ensure the success of business objectives.
* Perform Windows server installation, setup, configuration, administration, and support.
* Regularly deploy security patches and respond to immediate patching and remediation requests from Security Operations.
* Perform quarterly Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs) monitoring.
* Monitor backup jobs and react to any failure notifications.
* Support Disaster Recovery testing efforts.
* Perform maintenance and administrative tasks in VMWare.
* Achieve compliance with Carlisle Companies IT policies and procedures.
* Achieve critical business applications and server uptime.
* Generate knowledge base articles and other technical support documentation.

Level II and up-

* Mentor other IT staff and ensure other team members are adequately cross-trained.
* Ensure health of SAN/vSAN systems, perform capacity planning, and performance monitoring.
* Collaborate with Security Operations to understand and implement new controls while maintaining existing ones.
* Design and support backup and Disaster Recovery operations for all division systems, including servers and end-user computers.
* Support software volume license (VMware, Microsoft, etc.) planning and compliance activities.

Level III-

* Perform advanced troubleshooting and support, while developing and guiding other staff.
* Deliver training and direction as needed and mentor, coach and provide talent development plans to site IT staff to fulfill their role responsibilities.

All Levels-

* Take ownership for own safety and quality of work.
* Participate in own work area or functional Tiered Accountability process.
* Support conceptualization from the shop floor intended to automate and otherwise reduce waste.
* Suggest ideas to eliminate waste and to improve work processes and procedures within the IT function, and for improvements in the intersection of IT and other functions
* Use standard action planning and problem-solving processes including '3 Deep' techniques.
* Participate in problem solving and improvement activities.

Regarding safety, we require all individuals to follow all safety guidelines and procedure, including Personal Protective Equipment and machine guarding. As well as respectfully intervene or report unsafe behavior and participate in the safety behavior observation process.

Qualifications

For this position we look for an applicant with a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university (Information Technology, Information Systems), which is preferred. Applicable experience can be substituted for college education. We require experience with Microsoft Server, Microsoft SQL Server, Citrix, Active Directory, and VMware as well as proficient with Active Directory Group Policies. To be a Systems Engineer Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) and/or VMware Certified Professional is preferred, and Azure and networking certificates are also preferred.

Other Qualifications:

* Experience with server/workstation patching and vulnerability remediation and risk mitigation.
* Excellent customer support and interface skills required.
