Great opportunity exists for a Therapeutic Mentor to work with children, adolescents, and transitional age youth (under 20 years old). The Therapeutic Mentor position is an undergraduate level position structured to complement ongoing therapy, Therapeutic Mentoring offers clients the opportunity to improve interpersonal communication skills, build relationships, and practice what they have learned during their coinciding outpatient or in-home therapy. Our dedicated team of Therapeutic Mentors work 1:1 with children/youth, giving them additional opportunities to address therapeutic goals at home and in the community. Mentors collaborate with an IHT Family Therapist or Individual Therapist to design activities and interventions tailored to each client.

Required Skills

  • Organization and time management skills
  • Ability to form appropriate therapeutic relationships
  • Computer proficiency and adaptability
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record
  • Access to a personal vehicle for client transportation
  • Must demonstrate the following characteristics: flexible, team player, non-judgmental, ability to grow and learn in the position, ability to provide support and quality care for the well being of clients and families served.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in a Human Services field from an accredited university and minimum of (1) year experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth OR High School Diploma and minimum of (2) years of experience working with children/adolescents/transition age youth
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Experience utilizing Electronic Health Record preferred
  • Bilingual capability is a plus
