Summary of Duties:

The Veterinary Technician Supervisor position is responsible for directing and managing the Veterinary Technician/Operations unit within the WSU Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH). Responsibilities include oversight of all veterinary technicians and civil service animal technician assistant positions; development, distribution and maintenance of VTH policies and procedures; and participation in management of VTH operations.


Required Qualifications:

  • Position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business or medical-related field) and four (4) years of progressive responsibility in a related field which includes at least one (1) year of supervisory experience.Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

  • Knowledge of hospital operations processes and veterinary or human medicine terms, procedures, laws and regulations also required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DVM or Licensed Veterinary Technician preferred.

  • Experience working in veterinary or human medical hospital in leadership position.

  • Database management system experience (i.e. Microsoft Access).

  • Proficiency in use of practice management software.
