Job Details:
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for hiring, training, monitoring, and administering the job duties for FSQA hourly personnel. This includes monitoring and maintaining Quality Assurance programs to verify that product specifications are met, communicating with all levels of management and the USDA, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. This position also requires outlining product deficiencies and suggested corrections, tracking corrective actions to the customer, government, and QA inspections until discrepancies are resolved, and directing and scheduling laboratory and in-plant quality assurance testing as required on a shift basis.
Other duties include assisting in the development of analytical skills used to evaluate problems and provide sound technical advice to resolve situations, working on special projects as assigned by the FSQA Manager (i.e. writing procedures, capability studies, records organization, computer application, and implementation), and performing other responsibilities as the need arises. This position is responsible for food safety, food quality, and legality.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience: One plus years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills; for example, generating simple letters, spreadsheets, or creating simple queries.
Communication Skills: Good written and verbal communication skills
Supervisory Skills: This position is responsible for supervising a group of personnel who perform somewhat identical and related tasks or activities.
