Job Description

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's or advanced degree in early childhood education or training

coursework / teaching experience in content area of coaching. Possess the necessary hardware including internet connectivity to be able to observe classroom instruction remotely and participate in virtual coaching sessions. Possess a valid driver's license and work eligibility status. Pass a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Early Childhood, Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction or related coaching field. Experience conducting observations and providing feedback to classroom teaches. Experience with children with disabilities, Texas State Assessments. Bilingual (Spanish)

Critical Action Items:

1. Ensure staff, consultants, contractors, and volunteers protect the physical and mental health and safety of our children.

2. Using a virtual platform provided by INK, the Virtual Instructional Coach will provide ongoing coaching on and evaluation of effective teaching in an organized learning environment that promotes healthy development and children's skill growth aligned with the appropriate state's essential knowledge and skills and / or the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework: Ages Birth to Five, including children with disabilities.

3. Using a virtual platform provided by INK, the Virtual Instructional Coach will monitor and evaluate the classroom environment and implementation of prescribed curricula to provide developmentally appropriate learning experiences in language, literacy, social and emotional development, math, science, social studies, creative arts, and physical development, and integrate student assessment data in individual and group planning.

4. Using a virtual platform provided by INK, the Virtual Instructional Coach will monitor positive adult-child interactions and provide feedback to the teacher.

5. Using a virtual platform provided by INK, the Virtual Instructional Coach will Implement tools that support screenings, assessments, and ongoing evaluation of a student's academic level and progress in outcomes as related to instructional objectives.

6. Using a virtual platform provided by INK, the Virtual Instructional Coach will Identify opportunities for parents and family members to engage in their student's academic development and in program services, including but not limited to parent conferences and group activities.

7. Attend and participate in weekly PLC (Professional Learning Communities) to create a system of unity and support through best practices, collaboration, meaningful data collection, and personal accountability for the success of all.

8. All staff members will follow appropriate practices to keep children safe during all activities, including reporting at a minimum suspected or known child abuse and neglect, appropriate supervision of children at all times; and all standards of conduct.

9. Complete minimum training requirements as specified in state and federal standards.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Using a virtual platform the Virtual Instructional Coach will evaluate the implementation of and provide feedback on curricula, equipment, supplies and physical space for indoor and outdoor learning environments.

2. Share data used to monitor the quality of instruction and classroom environments, including adult-child interactions, and provide recommendations for continued professional development.

3. Identify potential interference with a student's development and school readiness and coordinate with education, family, mental health and/or child development professional program staff to address identified needs.

4. The Virtual Instructional Coach will observe all lessons within 48 hours of the delivery of the lesson and provide feedback to the teacher within 72 hours of the lesson.

5. The Virtual Instructional Coach will provide a post conference to the teacher face-to-face using a virtual platform that focuses on both strengths and weaknesses.

6. The Virtual Instructional Coach will maintain confidentiality in all areas of Student and program operations.

7. Perform other job duties as assigned.

Measurable Deliverables:

1. Work with Instructional Staff / Mentee to develop educational goals.

2. Review weekly lesson plans with Teacher to reflect opportunities for positive adult-student interactions, including individualized curriculum.

3. Support regular communication with teaching staff ensures they are well-informed about their children's routine, classroom activities, behavior, and progress.

4.Ensure all required Student's formal and informal assessments are completed on time.

5. Child files, classroom forms, and other documentation is compliant, current, and organized.

6. The classroom is free from physical and environmental hazards.

7. Incident reporting occurs within the timeframes designated in program policy and protocol

Requirements:

1. Demonstrate the ability to respond sensitively and competently to the service population's cultural and socio-economic characteristics.

2. Communicate in writing and verbally in English and Spanish (preferred, but not required).

3. Demonstrated ability to maintain emotional control and professional composure at all times.

4. Maintain computer literacy required to meet the responsibilities of the position.

5. Demonstrate a working knowledge of all INK policies and procedures.

6. Ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

7. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays, and weekends.

8. Ability to work independently.
