Reports To: YMCI Director

Job Summary:

The YMCI Resource Specialist will work as a member of the Boston Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention in collaboration with clinical staff. The Boston Youth Mobile Crisis Intervention works to provide behavioral health urgent care to youth and families located in Boston. The YMCI Resource Specialist will work collaboratively with clinicians to determine the needs of individual clients and connect these individuals to appropriate resources such as individual therapy, partial hospitalization programs, and other community based support programs. S/he acts as a liaison to community provider agencies and other key stakeholders and assists in advocating for clients needs including by making referrals for necessary services and supports. The YMCI Resource Specialist contributes to Bay Cove's mission by ensuring the individual's needs are met in order to reach their full potential. This is a non-exempt position.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Essential Functions of Position:

• Works with community-based organizations on behalf of clients and helps complete applications for community services.
• Maintains positive relationships with collaborating and consulting health care providers, school personnel and community agencies.
• Helps clients to problem solve issues that interfere with obtaining care and support.
• Drive referrals regarding connections to any community or social services that align with the client's needs and goals.
• Write notes, enter data, and review progress in accordance with Bay Cove documentation standards.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements for the Position:

• Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Psychology, Social Work, or a related area.
• A High School diploma or GED plus three years direct care experience providing services to adults with mental health issues or related populations can be substituted for the above degree requirement.
• Professional writing and oral communications skills.
• High degree of personal organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in word processing and other computer functions using Windows, Word, and Google Email and Apps.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply, pay differential offered for candidates with fluency in certain essential languages.
• A COVID-19 vaccination is a requirement of the position. One COVID-19 shot is acceptable, contingent on the individual receiving the second shot within the allotted time frame.
