JOB OVERVIEW:
The major responsibilities of the Account Executive are to drive sales growth by focusing on new business and development in the functional food, beverage, and nutraceutical markets. The Account Executive focuses on strategic sales with partners who represent multifaceted opportunities in ingredient supply chain management, product development, and long-term growth. The Account Executive's goal is to understand the objectives and challenges of each new account so that our capabilities can be custom-tailored to advance the growth and success of each account. This position requires travel across the US, as facetime with the customer is essential to growing relationships and business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Focuses on sales growth by attaining new customers.
• Identifies and pursues new business opportunities through prospecting, cold calling, networking, and referrals.
• Promotes value-added services to enhance new customers' development and delivery of high quality, nutritious products.
• Creates and develops strategic account plans for each new client account.
• Integrates new customer expectations with our capabilities, product lead times, etc.
• Creates and builds relationships with new customers to establish ourselves as industry partners for each market they serve.
• Oversees execution and management of Account projects by support staff.
• Works with Operations, Marketing, and Procurement to set quarterly and annual sales goals.
• Provides researched advice on marketing messages and materials needed, specific to ongoing sales efforts and product categories.
• Provides input for potential new items to incorporate into our product line based on feedback from customers.
• Maintains a consistent presence at industry trade shows and other relevant opportunities to gain new customers.
• Help direct activities of Account Managers and Account Service Coordinators aligned with the team.

JOB EXPERIENCE:
• 1+ year of progressive experience in new business development or sales; 3-5 years preferred.
• Experience in food, beverage or nutraceutical industry helpful but not required.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
• Demonstrated skills in relationship-building, consultative sales, leading strategic projects, and delivering results.
• A self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to prospect and build a pipeline.
• Well versed in problem solving with keen ability to identify customer/client pains and provide potential solutions through our products and services.
• Ability to utilize both analytical data and conceptual concepts to help identify potential business solutions and/or product offerings to our customers.
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Project Management skills with ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent negotiation, closing, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients at all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, etc.
• Familiarity with CRM software.
• Ability to travel to meet with clients and attend industry events up to 25% of the time.

EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related business discipline.
