Allegheny College, a selective liberal arts college located in northwest Pennsylvania, invites applications for the position of Accountant. This is a full-time non-exempt position reporting to the Director of Finance. The Office of Financial Services administers all College Financial Information. The pay range begins at $41,600 annually.
The position is responsible for the completion of a variety of accounting tasks using an integrated accounting system. Applies generally accepted accounting principles and procedures in working with accounting records and reports. Assembles, reconciles and analyzes data and transactions, prepares statements and reports.
Required qualifications include Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, plus one to three years' experience in an accounting office setting. Must have good interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to operate efficiently with multiple tasks assigned, and must be highly organized with an attention for detail and confidentiality. Experience in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel is necessary; knowledge of Ellucian or experience with other mainframe software a plus.
