Based in beautiful Princeton, NJ we are an innovative and trusted legal service company that specializes in serving mass tort law firms nationally. Due to growth and demand for our services, we are in need of hiring for a Staff Accountant that possesses strong experience with GAAP, AR/AP, Intacct Sage, and journal entries.

What You Will Be Doing - Prepare, maintain, and evaluate accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports to determine accuracy, completeness, and compliance with reporting standards.
- Supporting analysis and upkeep of sales tax payments and filings
- Help management comply with SSAE 16 criteria.
- Assist both internal and external clients with general ledger work.
- As required, aid in creating and maintaining accounting systems and the procedural documentation for the accounting department.
- Keep track of all depreciable assets in an inventory register and accurately assign their usable lives, salvage values, and monthly depreciation
- Providing reports and documents in response to auditor demands can help with external trust audits.
- Work with management to implement internal controls, record them, and test them.
- Assist with the planning, management, and testing of the monthly trust payments process, as well as the evaluation of sequencing adjustments and other crucial elements, as needed.
- Reconciling cash, documenting deposits, and ACH transactions
- Monthly reconciliation of customer investment accounts
- Maintain chart of accounts
-Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and general ledger entries
- Processing payroll and logging payroll journal entries
- Record AP
- Monthly funding request and disbursement process for trusts
- Year-end activities :1099 forms and assisting in entry cleanup
- AMEX credit card reconciliations
- Helping out in accounts payable when necessary and keeping track of unpaid bills
- Analysis of time and expense reports
-Whenever necessary, assist the Manager and the Controller with their allocated accounting projects.
What You Need for this Position - Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of related business experience
- Complex/Intermediate Accounting skills
- Strong Excel knowledge
- Knowledge of accounting software, Intacct Sage is a plus.
- Knowledge and experience of Sales Tax
- Critical and Analytical thinking
