SUMMARY: This position is responsible for assisting with various accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The ideal candidate is a proactive and organized individual with a strong foundation in accounting principles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES:

• Assist in preparing and maintaining financial records, including general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  
• Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
  
• Assist in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing processes by preparing necessary reports and schedules.
  
• Manage intercompany transactions, including posting and reconciling.
  
• Assist with maintaining inventory counts and balances.
  
• Track capital projects and maintain fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
  
• Prepare monthly Sales and Use tax returns.
  
• Supervise accounts payable and receivable staff, along with coordinating and resolving various issues with banks, customers and vendors.
  
• Process payroll for exempt and non-exempt team members, and post payroll entries.
  
• Manage short- and long-term contracts for quarterly reporting.
  
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and resolve any discrepancies in accounting records.
  
• Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned area of responsibility.
  
• Other duties as identified and assigned.
  

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: must hold a 2-year Associate's degree in accounting. Bachelor's degree is strongly desired.

Experience: Required to have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the manufacturing industry or public accounting.

Accounting Skills: Must have a thorough understanding of Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong analytical and technical accounting skills.

Computer Skills:

• Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  
• Attention to detail and accuracy is essential.
  

Communication Skills: Ability to demonstrate excellent organizational, problem solving, project management and written and verbal communication skills.
