JDRF is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance team located in our New York office. The primary responsibilities of this role are supporting day-to-day operations of the A/P functions which includes expense report and invoice processing, executing monthly grant payments, preparing monthly reconciliations and allocations while working with our staff nationwide. The Accounts Payable Specialist is also responsible for general accounting processes (banking, journal entry and supporting month-end closing).

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process outgoing payments in compliance with JDRF policies and procedures
  • Enter invoices and expense reports into A/P system in accordance with JDRF processing guidelines
  • Review invoices and expense reports to ensure compliance with JDRF policies.
  • Ensure correct coding and matching of invoices/receipts.
  • Provide support on finance related issues to internal teams.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations and fee allocations.
  • Perform vendor set-up and maintenance.
  • Assist with 1099 reporting.
  • Ensure that the confidentiality and security of all information always maintained
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by immediate supervisor and senior management.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or related field required.
  • Strong Excel skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in using different systems and platforms -i.e. Outlook, Salesforce and ERP (MSD 365, Workday) is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as being a team member.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly efficient in time management.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be proactive and possess problem-solving skills.

EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
Targeted salary range is 55-65K

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
