Job Description

The Analytical Scientist- Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry (LCMS) is responsible for performing validation and samples analysis in the LCMS laboratory, including troubleshooting and training and support of bioanalytical operations and Analytical Scientists. Knowledge and experience withLCMSandWatsonLIMSis highly desired.

  • Performs extractions of samples from pre-clinical and clinical studies, efficiently and to a highly proficient standard.
  • Performs extractions and validation assessments of calibration curve and quality control samples towards the validation of new and existing chemical entities, efficiently and to a highly proficient standard.
  • Processing of assay data in a timely manner.
  • Application of pre-defined acceptance criteria of assay data.
  • Preparation of solutions/samples required to perform sample analysis and validation.
  • Performs quality control checks in a timely manner, ensuring a high level of data integrity.
  • Maintain an excellent level of good documentation and laboratory practice throughout day-to-day work in the laboratory.
  • Support Lead analytical scientists with tasks, as required.
  • LCMS system troubleshooting.
  • Assigned for Support Analyst days participating in a staggered shift structure.
  • Involvement in method development by the extraction of R&D runs under the supervision of R&D scientists.
  • Perform other assigned lab duties as requested.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships across the department in order to provide and receive guidance, feedback and support.
  • Involvement in training of Analytical Scientist (supervising and explanation, trainer for extractions).
  • Involvement in training of Bioanalytical Laboratory Support Officers.
  • Involvement in training of Analytical Scientist including a detailed understanding of processes and procedures and extraction requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of experience respectively with demonstrated ability to complete more complex role/duties OR equivalent combination of education and experience (Required)
  • Master's degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or equivalent.
  • 5+years of experience respectively with demonstrated ability to complete more complex role/duties OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MBA or Doctorate degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or equivalent.
