Hendrickson is looking for dedicated employees in our Composites Manufacturing operation as we continue to grow our Dayton, OH operations. COME JOIN OUR TEAM!!!

Positions open on First Shift!

Position Purpose:

Provide support to the Controls Business Unit production floor and the Wheel-End and Brake Business Unit by producing a quality product in the safest way possible. Work as an effective team member with other Associates as well as other departments to meet daily production needs. Be a reliable employee of the Controls Business Unit by exceeding the standards in work ethic, attendance, quality, and safety.

Essential Functions:

  • Understand and apply the Business Unit Principals (Trust, Flow, Simplify, Focus, Empower, & Market Rate of Demand)
  • Be an active participant in Safety and/or a member of the Safety Team
  • Assemble, package, and label components
  • Responsible for following the Quality Assurance system
  • Responsible for following work instructions, perform inspections and document results accordingly
  • Operate tools and equipment required to manufacture product per specifications
  • Perform quality checks using calibrated digital micrometers, Digital Calipers, and go/no go gauges to ensure product is within tolerance.
  • Trouble shoot and correct problems when products do not meet specifications
  • Able to travel between multiple Hendrickson facilities in Canton, OH for variable work duties
  • Cross train in all areas of manufacturing
  • Communicate openly within the team and work out issues one on one
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
  • Responsible for work cell cleanliness
  • All Other Duties as Assigned.


  • Education and Training
    • HS diploma/GED required
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Experience in high volume assembly operations
    • Self-starter, conscientious, enthusiastic with a positive attitude
    • Read and understand assembly drawings, bills of material, and routings
    • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Intranet, etc.)
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    Physical Demands
    • Person will need to be able to walk throughout plant and stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
    • Ability to maneuver and guide objects heavier than 50 lbs with the assistance of a crane, hoist or other lifting device.
    Environmental Conditions
    • Heated / non-air-conditioned manufacturing environment

    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
    • All around team player.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
