Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

The Assistant Production Coordinator is a media professional, capable of assisting in producing professional media content in single-camera and multi-camera productions. This person will assist the Production Coordinator with concept-to-completion environments.

  • Serves in an assistant video content producer capacity for Digital Media Services which includes, but is not limited to, the following:
    • Assisting the Production Coordinator and Manager of Digital Media Services in marketing content to assist academic and administrative unties with their goals, including increased awareness, participation, and enrollment support.
    • Assist with News/PR content to advance institutional awareness, with content shared with external parties, such as television networks, for possible use in addition to university usage.
    • Event content and coverage, including livestream productions such as commencement ceremonies, Board of Regents meetings, University events and programs of significance.
  • Assists in strategy and development of written content, such as scripts, to be used for various projects involving individuals on camera.
  • Works with external departments and units who need assistance in strategizing, implementing and evaluating video-driven marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Serves as a backup photographer for the University to assist with securing key photographic needs and facilitating incoming requests from campus units.
  • Assists with maintaining and updating SmugMug, the University's photo archiving resource.
  • Mentor student workers, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Television Production or related field.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • One year of professional broadcast experience.
  • Requires ability to write and edit to professional broadcast standards.
  • Must have familiarity with broadcast style and good working knowledge of latest audio/video equipment and methods.
  • Ability to transport video equipment to and from assignments.
  • Willingness to travel and work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends as requested.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects, preferred.
