About This Position

The department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Assistant VP, Facilities Portfolio Management to work at the UHealth Campus. The Assistant VP, Facilities Portfolio Management provides overall administration of the UHealth/MSOM physical property and land assets. Moreover, this position facilitates strategic planning, master plans, real estate leases, license agreements, capital planning, space utilization, and space assignment for all facilities assets.

  • Assist VP, Facilities Operations and Planning in overall management, utilization, and reporting on all UHealth/MSOM Facilities Assets, including owned and leased properties.
  • Assists in developing and updating long-range planning documents regarding real estate and physical space needs for UHealth/MSOM.
  • Represents UHealth/MSOM in all real estate transactions and manages the business relationships with landlords and vendors concerning activities associates with UHealth/MSOM leases and property purchases.
  • Serves as primary point of contact and liaison between UHealth/MSOM departments, leasing partners, users of facilities, supervisors, physical plant personnel, and construction contractors and subcontractors.
  • Negotiates leases, property acquisition contracts, and ensures compliance with plans, specifications, and scheduling.
  • Assists in master planning in support of the UHealth/MSOM strategic plan.
  • Sets and monitors standards for space utilization.
  • Provides administrative oversight for the Space Management team.
  • Solicits input from administrators to identify issues and concerns.
  • Ensures internal control oversight and compliance with laws and regulations, safeguarding of assets, compliance with University policies and procedures, reliability of internal and external reporting, and efficiency and effectiveness of operations. Creates an effective control environment, conducts risk assessment, implements, and monitors controls.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience
