Kenyon College is conducting a search for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Associate Director of Experiential Learning for Career Development. The Associate Director will support the professional success of Kenyon College students and graduates through 1:1 advising, workshops, and the strategic development of experiential learning tools. The Associate Director will oversee current internship programs and resources, including the Community Internship Program, EXPL courses (internship-connected courses for credit), and internship stipends. The Associate Director is a member of the Career Development Office (CDO), which is positioned within the Academic Affairs Division. The Associate Director will oversee an Assistant and will report to the Dean for Career Development. This is a 12-month position. Essential Functions:
    Supervise Assistant Director of Career Development who works with experiential learning initiatives.Provide 1:1 and group career advising to students and alumni on all aspects of the job search process.Assist a diverse community of students and alumni in evaluating their skills, values and professional interests through advising, workshops, and programming.In collaboration with the Dean for Career Development and Director of Employer Relations, establish systems to track experiential learning engagement, particularly internships, within the CDO's database, Handshake.Create cohort-based workshops and reflection tools that promote learning and professional development of students participating in experiential learning, particularly internships. Enhance Kenyon's Community Internship Program in ways that support broader experiential learning goals.Regularly assess and improve the educational and developmental components of EXPL courses in partnership with the faculty advisors.Serve as a resource for faculty who wish to embed professional reflections or advising into a course project or syllabus.Refine and develop educational and reflective systems that student work supervisors can incorporate into their programs to enhance the learning and professional development of their students.Serve as a liaison to several academic departments, sharing resources, upcoming events, relevant job and internship leads, and serving as a thought partner for embedding career development into academic programs as requested.Oversee strategy for stewardship and allocation of internship stipend awards in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Experiential Learning.Regularly assess and evaluate effectiveness of programs and operations.Attend and present at local, regional or national conferences related to essential job functions.Other duties as assigned by the Dean for Career Development.
Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.Minimum of three years experience working with college students, preferably advising in a higher education environment.Proficiency in a variety of computer software applications.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Team player, excited to work collaboratively with others. An affinity for and commitment to the value of a liberal arts education.
Preferred Qualifications
    Master's Degree in a related field.Five or more years of relevant professional experience.Supervisory experience.Experience with Handshake, Power BI, Adobe Creative Suite, Qualtrics, Google G Suite.
Working ConditionsThis position may require travel and the associated physical demands, as well as occasional work during evenings and weekends.
