How you can make a bigger difference:

Mishkon Division provides supports and services in a health and safe environment for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities living in residential programs and in community settings. Our core values are to provide a healthy and safe environment that promotes person centered planning, community integration, and close collaboration with families and the community. This is all accomplished through an Orthodox Jewish lens, and with an understanding that staff, at all levels of the division, is the determining factor in achieving positive outcomes for our clients.

The Behavior Intervention Specialist will design, implement and monitor the Behavior Management Programs, Instructional Goals and Valued Outcomes for all individuals using the Positive Approaches Paradigm.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from a program in clinical and behavioral areas and training in assessment techniques and behavioral supports plan development, as well as, knowledge of ABA programs.
  • Five years' experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, including those dually diagnosed.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, ability to engage staff.
  • Excellent data analysis and presentation skills and proficiency with relevant software.

Key Essential Functions:
  • Administer and interpret the clients' cognitive, social/motivational and adaptive living skills.
  • Responsible for accurate data collection and summaries.
  • Participate as an active member of the interdisciplinary team process.
  • Assist the Applied Behavior Science Specialists in program development.
  • Collaborate with the psychiatrists in monitoring psychotropic medications effects in conjunction with replacement behaviors and fading plans as applicable.
  • Supervise and train milieu staff and managers in the implementation of behavior support plans and instruction goals/valued outcomes.
