Position Purpose:

The C&D Technician I is responsible for performing various general labor activities that include the operation of large machinery that provide assistance to the jobsite.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Operates a vehicle or other special equipment such as forklift, backhoe, amphibious vehicle, or vactor as part of the general labor duties.
  • Performs maintenance on the property and in field as required via the use of a maintenance request for or verbal request.
  • Keeps a log of all maintenance acuities, date of work completed, and as much detail as possible as to what work was performed.
  • Make scheduled inspections of the grounds.
  • Performs lawn and gardening maintenance and repair.
  • Performs various tasks (i.e.: shoveling, transfers manhole covers, handle ect.) to assist Crew Leader.
  • Assist with identifying safety improvements related to the facilities, equipment, or procedures.
  • Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-5 years work experience in related field.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Good working knowledge of basic hand and power tools.
  • Performs regular checks of equipment conditions, noting deficiencies and following maintenance procedures. Notifies supervisor of needed maintenance.
  • Ability to read technical material, blueprints (understands symbols).
  • Knowledge of codes, safety devices and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively via written and oral methods with co-workers, supervisor, managers, and others when necessary.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • Must have valid Mississippi driver's license (CDL preferred).

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical requirements include frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and squatting, crawling, sitting, occasional lifting of up to 50lbs. Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces.
