Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Plate Group is seeking qualified applications for the posting of Configuration Metallurgist. Principal duties of the successful candidate include development and configuration to grow the plate group technology solutions in functionality and visibility. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
- Development, configuration, and implementation on eBS, MES, or Levels 2-0 projects to increase functionality and visibility in the Plate Group Technology Solution.
- Teach and build Global Standards and Specifications in MES
- Communicate and collaborate with NPG and NBT on data, issues, and functionality
- Work with NPG to target and prioritize projects for future work
- Be a NPG resource and support for when other mills go-live
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Material or Metallurgical Engineering, or relevant experience.
- Willingness to travel 20-40% of time to NPG mill facilities.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning(ERP) and/or Manufacturing Execution System (MES) software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Steel plate experience.
• Knowledge of PSI
