Job Description

Individual needed to support Planning Yard Electrical/Electronics group by way of preparing designs to support upgrades/modifications to Combat shipboard Electrical systems. Individual will be validating shipboard conditions and developing plans/sketches for new installs/upgrades on existing Navy Ships. Individual will also convert sketches/mark-ups into AutoCAD drawings as required.

Basic Qualifications

Electrical or design apprenticeship programs and/or 4 years of experience in electrical field. Must be able to ship check and provide detailed mark-ups to support drawing development. Requires working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft products. Must be able to work alone or as part of a team with minimum supervision during ship checks and in off-site office. Ability to obtain secret clearance required.

Preferred Qualifications

Working knowledge of Electrical/Electronics systems on US Navy Surface Combatants. Candidate should have computer skills and the ability to communicate effectively when interfacing with other disciplines during the drawing development process. Shipboard experience with the LCS, LPD17 and LHD/LHA classes of ships will be a plus. AutoCAD skills a plus.
