Summary:

This position manages a diverse and multi-layered team of Category Advisors, Analytics Managers, Planogram Managers and other Specialists who are responsible for delivering Best-In-Class Category Leadership to Walmart. The team is highly involved with advising Walmart in all aspects of category-centric and shopper-centric needs required to drive sales, distribution and customer relationships.

Key responsibilities include:

• Customer Facing Focus: Focus on delivering solution-oriented recommendations to Walmart through coaching and leading team members; Also provides support on Advanced Category & Shopper Insights Projects that span the Total Store
• Strategy & Planning: Assists VP of Category & Shopper Leadership in developing long term strategy for function. Negotiates 3rd party vendors with Procurement; Implements Test and Learn capabilities; Manages and implements account category priorities existing and new; Develops and publishes top-down measures and targets
• Team Development &Training: Develops comprehensive training plan for the function; Builds tool training; Conducts ongoing skills assessment for goal setting and continuous improvement; Determines frequency and method of ongoing training live, web etc.

This role leads the Category Advisors, Non-Advisors and Merchandising Center of Excellence. This role will lead setting strategy and learning agenda for Walmart within our categories. Acts as voice regarding required future Shopper Insights research; Communicates feedback regarding national shelving guidelines and is instrumental in providing input in Leadership Platforms.

Requirements:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience: 10 plus years of experience managing Category Management Sales and/or Consumer Insights group at a CPG Company. Food industry and/or Broker experience a plus.
• Computer Skills: Advanced skills in PowerPoint Excel. Familiarity with JDA, Space Planning Capabilities; Also possessing highly macro and strategic focus with strong background knowledge of advanced industry analytics, syndicated data and shopper research.
• Communication Skills: Excellent presentation verbal and written communication skills.
• Special Skills: Strong experience managing a diverse and multi-layered team preferably within a large organization. Effective project management skills
