Tuberculosis (TB) screening, testing - TB screening and testing, is required and must be completed prior to hire ( i.e., preplacement), and maintained during employment

STARTING SALARY:

  • Mental Health Therapist II - $26.04/hr
  • LCSW/LPC/LMFT - $29.72/hr - $30.22/hr
  • CAS/LAC differential - $1.00/hr
Position summary: Complete substance use evaluations and referrals for treatment for people involved in Denver Human Services (DHS) Child Welfare department. This position does not carry a caseload and works autonomously on a contract with DHS.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Receive and promptly respond to referrals from DHS Child Welfare
  • Schedule and complete substance use evaluations using ASAM Criteria
  • Refer individuals to treatment centers, as needed
  • Provide culturally competent services
  • Communicate with DHS case worker
  • Contact individuals over telephone, telehealth video, or in person
  • Assist people in scheduling UAs at treatment centers
  • Testify on evaluation in court occasionally (professional coaching/support provided)
  • Use Electronic Health Record
  • Attend weekly team meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Education/Certification/Licensure: Master's degree in psychology, social work, or other related human services degree. Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS).

Preferred: Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC)

Experience: One year experience working with individuals with substance use disorders.

Preferred: One year experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness.

Skills: Knowledge of community resources for substance use. Good time management and ability to manage own schedule. Familiarity with assessment. Ability to coordinate with various entities. Good clinical writing skills. Comfortable working with a diverse population.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Machines and Equipment to be used: Computers, calculators, fax machines, copier/ printer, telephone, and a variety of other office and clerical equipment.
