The Manager, Project Management is responsible for the overall customer project and operational management functions. The Manager provides leadership, coordination, and oversight of internal and client-facing projects, resources, methodologies, standards, procedures, and tools. This is a leadership position with responsibilities for resource coordination in a matrixed organization. The Manager will work in close coordination with the PMO and VP of Application Services to align project activities with the goals and objectives of the Professional Services, Global Customer Support, and Application Development departments and to achieve customer success.

What You Will Do:

  • Actively monitors and manages the status of projects in the field, as well as product issues flowing from Customer Service. Uses that as input to run internal inter-departmental processes for a) issue scheduling, b) release management, and c) resource scheduling and assignment.
  • Represents ABS in a customer-facing role to ensure project plans are constructed and requirements are understood.
  • Collaborates with and guides clients in system and process change initiatives that aid a successful implementation.
  • Acts as a professional specialist for the project in applying related requirements, concepts, principles, and processes.
  • Recommends changes in client business process methods, procedures, or application configuration. where necessary.
  • Produces status reports for customer projects, actions, issues, consultant scheduling, and billing.
  • Leads an action plan in response to issues (internal or client-facing) and coordinates with multiple functional areas to rally the appropriate resources to the task.
  • Manages the development, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of project management methodologies, standards, procedures, and tools.
  • Meets and confers with all levels of management to monitor customer satisfaction with services/products and to ensure that necessary actions are taken to ensure project and product delivery.
  • Analyzes project data and monitors ongoing adherence to best-practice implementation standards to be executed by professional services team members.
  • Prepares and delivers high-level and detailed presentations to ABS management and clients.
What You Will Need:

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, preferably in Information Services, Business Management, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree or comparable on-the-job experience is also required.
  • Experience with enterprise-level, industry-standard Project/Portfolio Management (PPM) tools.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Clarity and conciseness in oral and written communications; demonstrated capability to produce effective presentations for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to achieve process changes and departmental goals within a matrix organization; ability to communicate appropriately and work well with others at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to assess organizational, administrative, and project management skills and bring solutions and concrete actions to bear in areas needing assistance.
  • Excellent project management skills and organizational skills; proven track record of successful enterprise-level project results.
  • Must be an intelligent, articulate, and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior management team and who is able to communicate project management-related concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of theoretical (PMBOK) and practical aspects of project management.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to obtain a working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management System.
It Would Be Nice If You Had
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or formal education in Project Management desired
Reporting Relationships:

Reports directly to the Project Management Office or the VP of Application Services depending upon geography. This position may have direct reports.

Working Conditions:

Work will normally be performed in an air-conditioned office environment. Assistance will be provided by a member of the clerical support staff. May be required to travel occasionally. Occasionally may have to lift between 5- 15 pounds.
