FirstEnergy's in-house, centralized IT organization creates and maintains software solutions, and operates FirstEnergy data centers, service desks and voice/data networks. About the Opportunity

This is an open position with FirstEnergy Service Co., a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

This will be a Hybrid Position with some days on-sight out of our West Akron Campus.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provides support for CIO, VP, Directors (8), and Managers (maintaining calendars, expense accounts, extensive meeting scheduling, travel, etc.).
  • Coordinating and assisting in general administrative work (updating time sheets, data compilation, word processing, record and file maintenance, mail distribution, etc.).
  • Remains flexible and able to quickly handle changes in scheduling and/or last-minute information requests.
  • Responsible for Company purchasing card and reconciliation process, ordering supplies for local office and outlying areas.
  • Responsible for monthly invoice processing.
  • Provide support for special projects when requested.
  • Help administer gift card program for department.
  • Arrange travel for department employees.
  • Monthly updates to IT SharePoint Site.
  • Regularly handles sensitive and confidential materials and information; high degree of confidentiality is required.
  • Develop and maintain database/spreadsheets; may also create and prepare correspondence and complex presentations.
  • Demonstrates a solid commitment to all aspects of safety.
  • Demonstrates sound internal and/or external customer service.
  • Possesses a strong background and is highly proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Empower, Coupa, and SAP.
  • Maintains a safe workplace for coworkers based upon knowledge of potential hazards and industry regulations/requirements.
  • Independently anticipates and provides excellent quality service to meet internal/external customer needs.
  • Answers complex inquiries pertinent to the assigned area.
  • Uses excellent communication skills with good judgment.
  • Consistently anticipates and delivers results.
  • Proactively works to ensure knowledge is transferred to others.

Qualifications include:
  • Must have high school diploma or GED along with minimum of 10 years related experience required.
    • Related experience includes, but is not limited to: ability to work in Microsoft Suite of products, Empower, Coupa, SAP, SharePoint; scheduling; expense reports; communication; administrative support
  • Previous experience providing support to an executive is preferred.
  • Must pass the Company's Clerical Aptitude Battery Test (CABT).
  • Must be highly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, Empower and SAP
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Must demonstrate a questioning attitude to continue to learn, produce results, and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Must model active learning through continuing to develop breadth of knowledge, skills, and perspective.
  • Must have the ability to lead by example.
  • Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork skills; oral and written communication skills; and possess the ability to independently prioritize workloads, meet deadlines and work in pressure situations.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced open environment.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills (friendly, courteous, helpful).
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Must have the ability to deliver quality, accurate work within established deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently on special assignments as directed by management.
  • Must be able to make recommendations for process improvements, as necessary.
