Job Summary:

Our team is seeking a pediatrician trained in hospital medicine, critical care medicine and/or complex care to take the role of executive medical director of the inpatient unit, to standardize protocols, procedures and oversee the inpatient medical program.

This is a full time, onsite role located at our facility within the Hyde Park area in Chicago, IL.

Essential Executive Medical Director Functions:

• Utilizes advanced knowledge, skills, and expertise in pediatrics to implement a medical director role for the inpatient unit, including care of technology dependent, complex care and rehabilitation patients
  
• To understand the intricacies of the hospital the medical director will provide 24 weeks of inpatient service and oversee the clinical and educational programs of the inpatient unit
  
• Provides education to the medical students, pediatric residents and nurse practitioners on a biweekly basis
  
• Systematically assesses the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of inpatients
  
• Develops a plan of care for each patient/family based on assessment and documents according to policy
  
• Integrates the role of teacher into clinical practice to provide patient education
  
• Consults within the organization on current pediatric clinical practice and disease management in area(s) of expertise
  

What we need from you:

• Education: MD - post residency
  
• Experience: experience in hospital medicine, critical care, or complex care preferred
  
• Unrestricted medical license in Illinois
  
• Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrate knowledge and expertise in patient care (pediatrics preferred). Active member in appropriate professional organization
  
• CPR issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross; Pediatric Advance Life Support
