Nordson MEDICAL designs, engineers and manufactures complex devices and components with applications in wound healing, surgical and minimally invasive, fluid management, pulmonology and interventional and structural heart. Our pioneering Advanced Polymers team was the first to manufacture and supply medical balloons to the medical device industry. Nordson MEDICAL works with doctors, start-ups and large medical companies around the world at any point in the product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable QMS requirements.
  • Provide daily coaching, oversight, training, and performance feedback to the team to ensure all performance goals are achieved.
  • Write and administer employee performance reviews.
  • Promote owner mindset and employee empowerment by ensuring that standardized work processes are established, followed and countermeasures are implemented.
  • Facilitate NBS Next business model at the production floor level. Ensure the production team is educated and actively engaged in applying NBS Next elements on the production floor.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging participation among the production team.
  • Perform assigned job functions in a manner that meets or exceeds specified quality standards and required productivity metrics for the job assigned.
  • Responsible to meet daily tooling, material, schedule, and PM requirements.
  • Responsible to identify necessary resources to meet internal and external customer requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to processes and procedures.
  • Monitor all production processes and update as necessary.
  • Lead or delegate the SQDIPC meetings and activities.
  • Review and determine approval of employee PTO requests.
  • Review and approve employee timecards.
  • Provide a monthly department status.


Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to understand a broad range of extrusion equipment functions.
  • Strong technical skills demonstrated through prior experience and career progression.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking to quickly resolve problems.
  • Strong written and verbal two-way communication skills.
  • Forward-thinking - identify and anticipate issues and bring others along to proactively address.
  • Ability to coach and develop others


Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant degree is preferred; in lieu of degree additional experience may be required.
  • A minimum of 10+ years firsthand experience in an operation's or quality role.
  • Experience in the medical device manufacturing industry preferred.
