Allegheny College, a selective national liberal arts college, invites applications for the position of Graphic Designer in the Office of Marketing and Communications. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications.

The Designer will produce graphic design work for a variety of mediums for partners across campus, including Admissions, Institutional Advancement, Athletics and Recreation, and Student Life areas.

The Graphic Designer will:

Be the contributing or lead designer for projects including collateral, environmental graphics, event promotion, and social media for client projects across campus.Support photo shoots, installation, and project management as needed.Attend planning meetings and communicate throughout a project's lifespan in order to meet client goals and expectations.Work with and prioritize within multiple deadlines for multiple clients simultaneouslyPerform daily project tracking, timeline management, and coordination with colleagues in the Marketing and Communications office.

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in design or related field - or equivalent experience1-3 years of experience in design and productionHigher education experience is a plus

Knowledge, skills and abilities:

A commitment to continual learning and self-educationCollaborative spirit, ready and excited to work with a skilled team both virtually and in-personUnderstanding of effective client communication; ability to collaborate with a variety of constituencies, including various College departments and stakeholders, such as students, faculty, staff, and alumniThe design of and importance of branding systems, and a working knowledge of design history through current trendsApplication of visual design standards, and awareness and/or knowledge of design requirements for a variety of mediumsExperience with editing and optimizing images for use in various mediaExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail with strong interpersonal and communication (oral, presentation, written) skills and the ability to use tact and sound judgment in all activitiesAbility to work under pressure and prioritize within multiple deadlines, and to work independently when necessary
