The Graphic Designer I, under general supervision, supports graphic design and photography projects for marketing and communications needs, including designing promotional materials for the university and editing graphics/photos for use in multimedia, web sites, and other purposes.

Responsibilities:

• Designs promotional brochures, posters, digital signage, newsletters, graphic marks, and other printed materials for use in the recruitment and retention of students as well as advertising and marketing initiatives for the university.

• Designs effective and accessible graphic interfaces for web sites, pages and applications.

• Creates motion graphics for use on web sites and multi-media presentations as needed.

• Maintains documentation for each project including approvals, comments, drafts and artwork.

• Collaborates with customers as needed from concept to creation to customer support. Acts as a technical resource in the area of graphics and publication design software, hardware and techniques.

• Oversees the university's digital signage software.

• Serves as the university's principal photographer.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Graphics Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is preferred.

Salary: $35,000
Hours: Monday - Friday; 8am to 5pm; nights and weekends as needed.
Work Location: This is not a remote position. The selected candidate will be required to work on campus.
