HIM Coding Specialist- Interventional Radiology

Job Summary

The HIM Coding specialist reviews the patient's medical record to assign the appropriate ICD10-CM diagnoses and CPT procedural codes, modifiers and charges where applicable. Resolves relevant coding edits to ensure accuracy and integrity of data billed to payers. Assigns appropriate admission/discharge dispositions and any additional required data elements. May contact physicians as needed for clarification regarding the assignment of diagnostic and procedural codes. Ensures established quality, productivity and process goals are met. Ensures compliance with Medicare and other required regulatory agency guidelines related to coding.

Full Time Remote Position: Hours 8am-4:30 with Flexibility

Prefer previoous experience working as a Interventional Radiology coder.

Certification and Licensure Required for the role:

(CCS,CCA, CPC, RHIT or RHIA)

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma - OR - GED - OR - Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education

• Relevant Experience working as a Interventional Radiology coder.

• Coding Credential (CCS or CCA or CPC or RHIT or RHIA)

• General Clerical Skills
