Basic Job Functions:

The responsibility of the Ladle Crane Operator is to safely transport all hot metal to the caster, remove ladles from the caster, dump/clean all ladles, and supply the EAF with prepared empty ladles for tapping. Responsibilities also include operating an overhead crane for production and non-production settings, completing the appropriate crane inspections, displaying complete ownership and assisting with maintaining the overhead crane. The qualified candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Demonstrated commitment to safety
• Previous cab crane operating experience
• Able to successfully pass crane operator and mobile equipment requirements

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2-3 years' experience utilizing a cab operated overhead crane
• Understanding of melting and casting logistics
• Experience in Steel Making
