Allegheny College, a selective national liberal arts college, invites applications for the position of Institutional Research and Decision Support Analyst. The position is a full-time exempt position reporting to the Associate Provost for Institutional Effectiveness, Strategic Planning and Assessment. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness handles all internal and external reporting functions, including IPEDS, the Common Data Set, and strategic key performance indicators. Salary range begins at $44,000 annually.

The Institutional Research and Decision Analyst utilizes best practices of data collection, tidiness and reporting to foster a culture of data-informed decision making across the institution. The position is responsible for managing, and analyzing complex data and analytical projects in order to support compliance, accreditation and inform strategic decision making.

The ideal candidate has a flexible understanding of data and the processes of data maintenance (clean, store, analyze, visualize, e.g.) In addition to strong quantitative skills they are skilled in communication, documentation and reporting of data and analyses. Excellent time management and organizational skills are required. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task with minimal supervision. Flexibility to respond quickly to changing priorities.

Appropriate handling of personal and confidential data is essential. Proficiency in R is required, Python is desirable. Experience communicating about data in electronic media is highly desirable, as is understanding of the data needs and terminology of higher ed.
