GHD is looking for an energetic Engineering Intern to join our Maritime and Coastal (M&C) practice. This position will be based in San Diego, CA! In this role, you will primarily assist with the planning, design and analysis of waterfront projects in California, Oregon, Washington and the Pacific (West Region). This is a rewarding opportunity to employ your planning, analytic and engineering skills, learn from engaging mentors, be involved in challenging projects, and develop technical solutions on diverse projects.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

  • Working under the supervision of experienced professional scientists and engineers on diverse Maritime & Coastal design and analysis projects.
  • Assisting with the planning, analysis and design of waterfront infrastructure and facilities for port, federal, private and municipal clients such as piers, wharves, revetments, and related infrastructure.
  • Providing calculations, developing drawings and sketches.
  • Assisting with coastal permitting and environmental documents, writing and data preparation for grant applications, collaborating closely with community, stakeholders and industry.
  • Delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Maintaining open communication with project team members.
What you will bring to the team:
  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Motivated and curious approach.
  • Experience in the Microsoft office suite, MATCAD; Autodesk suite 2016 or newer (Civil 3d/Revit)
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, including report writing.

Salary Range: $22.50 - $24.520 based on experience.
