Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Compensation: $28/hour - $32/hour Depending on experience

Summary

The Logistics Coordinator manages efficient shipment coordination, communication, and invoicing, requiring skills in TMX systems, Microsoft Office, negotiation, leadership, and time-management. On-site attendance is essential for effective performance.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate shipments for delivery, including managing necessary personnel, to maximize efficiency and profitability. Ensure shipping methods comply with local, state, and federal law.
  • Maintain communication with the softwood sales team and the Shipping Coordinators at the softwood sawmills to ensure the shipping schedules are on track, calendars are synced and maintained, and that carriers are communicating with the shippers and receivers.
  • Report on inventory levels at the beginning and end of each week and address the data in weekly sales meetings with upper management.
  • Maintain supplier, sales, and customer records.
  • Prepare and process lumber and freight invoices, updating customer and vendor profiles as needed.
  • Work closely with the Softwood Sales Manager, Export Logistics Coordinator, and the logistics team at other Collins locations.
  • Analyze and optimize the company's logistics processes.
  • Track the sales team's communication with customers.
  • Respond to emails, phone calls, and customer inquiries for the sales team.
  • Perform additional duties as required by supervisor.
  • On-site attendance is essential to effectively perform the listed duties and responsibilities.

Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of TMX systems; Princeton TMS preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent note taking skills and the ability to create handover documentation.
  • Ability to act with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
