BC Forward is currently seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Engineer I - Paint for an opportunity in Ottumwa, IA 52501.

Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer I - Paint
Location: Ottumwa, IA 52501
Anticipated Start Date: Tentative 04/09/2024

Expected Duration: 12 Months Contract
Job Type: Full Time Contract, Onsite
Pay Range: $32/hr on W2 (must be able to work on W2 without sponsorship)
Please note that actual compensation may vary within this range due to factors such as location, experience, and job responsibilities, and does not encompass additional non-standard compensation (e.g., benefits, paid time off, per diem, etc.).

Job Description:
Duties Performed
1. Completes System Checks for D27 and D28 to include:
a. Washer Activities:
i. Washer PH, Temperature (Ignition tracking and alarm signals out of bounds), Concentration, Conductivity, Nozzle evaluation (could be added to maintenance if needed), counterflow monitoring (remove task - get alarm on PLC), RO System function - monthly check for hardness/could be added to monthly maintenance PM for both D27/28.
ii. Load non PLC tracked measures for pretreatment into Ignition
iii. Make chemical adjustments to washer stages.
iv. Coordinates changing chemical totes as needed
v. Calibrate PH and conductivity meters

2. Paint Checks
i. Verifies P-Mix mix ratio, checks paint plumbing pressure to identify any leaks prior to quality issues or downtime - maintenance does this now. Checks Day tank viscosity in D27. Monitoring Chemistry in D27 Swimming pool and PH.
3. Paint Quality Checks
i. Film Build checks to ensure appropriate paint quality and thickness
ii. Takes gloss readings and follows up on findings
iii. Reviews all FPY hits daily for D27 and reviews with operators - Jason See to do this, could be a task that could be added back to NTA if needed
iv. Publishes the FPY by area PowerPoint to the Paint Ops Team - Use PowerBI from now on.
4. Ovens
i. Runs data packs through oven in both departments to ensure adequate oven temps - Quarterly by Sherman Williams.
5. Decal/Pick-to-Light
i. Owns this workcenter
ii. Updates decal inventory - should be MP&F Scheduler
iii. Orders decals from Warehouse - should be MP&F Scheduler
iv. Champions changes with Factory Automation when new decal revisions come through ECMs or decals are replaced
v. Training for decal install
vi. Conducts quality investigations on decal related issues
vii. Templates for decals in the factory
viii. Update print books
6. Other
i. Add - Hang methods in D28 working with ETEC and completing on their own
ii. OMS/JDAAT support and keeping up to date.
iii. Update WI system
iv. EMS support as guided by Paint ME
v. Interface with paint contractors
vi. CI Projects
vii. Meeting support - ME related
viii. Daily Paint ME support - investigations, resolution (process, Env, Safety, etc)
