AstraZeneca's strategy in CVRM focuses on ways to reduce morbidity, mortality and organ damage by addressing multiple risk factors across cardiovascular (CV) disease, diabetes and chronic kidney-disease indications. The patient-centric approach is reinforced by science-led life-cycle management programs and technologies, including early research into regenerative methods.

The Consumer Marketing Manager in Wilmington, DE will play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. This role contributes to the development of marketing plans to enhance the value of AstraZeneca's portfolio and pipeline. The Consumer Marketing Manager is responsible for working with the Brand Leadership team to develop and measure aspects of the brand strategy with a specific focus on opportunity assessments and positioning for our Diabetes product.

What you'll do

  • Lead the execution of the multichannel tactical marketing plan for the brand
  • Partner with Business Insights and Market Research Team to define success metrics and analyze performance programs and partner with Global Commercial Operations to support aspects of our messaging and execution to patients including in-office promotion, digital, social and other DTC channels.
  • Manage ad agency performance and staffing to support brand goals
  • Collaborate with the Brand Associate Directors to define and facilitate development of the brand's promotional plan and programs, and ensure their consistency with brand strategy and collaborate with other functional areas and lead the review process to ensure legal/regulatory compliance and medical accuracy of all marketing materials.
  • Participate in the annual operational planning process by shaping the tactical plan and budget required to achieve the brand's stated objective

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing or in the sciences
  • 3+ years of marketing experience, 1+ year in pharmaceutical industry OR 3+ years of pharma or Healthcare experience
  • Proven ability to lead without authority
  • Consumer marketing experience with paid, owned and earned media
  • Experience with audience segmentation, content strategy and CRM workflow development
  • Experience with digital, social and mobile marketing channels, technology and analytics
  • Ability to manage external vendors based on performance and results
  • Ability to lead complex projects
  • Ability to gauge the feasibility, impact and risks of proposed programs
  • Comfort operating in a highly regulated environment and industry
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced Degree in Business, Marketing, or Science
  • Experience with digital media management, marketing automation and BI/analytic platforms
  • Pharmaceutical experience in Diabetes
  • Uses the right tools & converting data into insight
  • Deep understanding of customer values independent of the brand
  • Measures performance to uncover insight that will inform strategy
  • Deeply understands the disease state & clinical profile
  • Develops a compelling clinical platform
  • Galvanizes patients & the medical community
  • Increases the clinical value of the asset
  • Generates compelling insights-driven messaging
  • Enhances and integrates channels
  • Uses data to build the "next best interaction"
  • Ability to successfully collaborate with colleagues across the enterprise to drive positive outcomes
