Salary/Position Classification

Purpose of Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position.

The Department of Communication at the University of North Dakota will host the Digital Storytelling Summit for high school students from June 3, 2024 to June 7, 2024 at the UND Memorial Union Ballroom. The Department of Communication is seeking an undergraduate media coordinator for the summit who can represent UND as well as mentor high school students to create digital stories, work with the assigned clients, and assist the event advisory team during the event period.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Mentor a team of 4-5 high school students to complete a digital storytelling project.
  • Supervise the team to prepare the final presentation.
  • Work with a client assigned to the team.
  • Manage the team's supplies and materials.
  • Facilitate discussions among team members.
  • Keep team members' attendance during meetings. - (Essential)

Minimum Requirements
  • Must be an enrolled student at UND.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience taking any communication classes and/or participating in activities hosted by the Department of Communication.
* Any level of graphic design and video editing knowledge and skills (but not required).
