Location: Denton, TX
Description: We have a client looking to bring on a Certified Medical Assistant for a long-term contract assignment (possibly perm) at their clinic in Denton TX.
Specific Duties:
- Clinical Procedures:
- Operate diagnostic equipment (without interpreting tests).
- Remove staples from superficial wounds.
- Change wound dressings and obtain cultures.
- Administer non-intravenous medication.
- Perform simple specimen collection using noninvasive techniques.
- Collect blood specimens via venipuncture or capillary.
- Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs).
- Perform quality control checks on equipment.
- Prepare and sterilize medical equipment using autoclave.
- Patient Care:
- Room patients following policy and procedures.
- Prepare patients for examination.
- Accurately record patient care documentation in medical records.
- Coordinate patient care as directed by physicians and company standards.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and treat patients with courtesy and respect.
- Facility Management:
- Organize exam and treatment rooms.
- Stock and clean rooms.
- Sterilize instruments.
- Practice standard infection control precautions.
- Communication and Administrative Tasks:
- Conduct telephone and in-person screenings for intake and information gathering.
- Support and follow Standard Delegation of Orders (SDO).
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent.
- Current, Medical Assistant certification
- Current BLS certification for healthcare providers
- Basic computer literacy (with intermediate Excel skills).
- Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills .
